Coptic Journals PDF ONLY Tutorial

$12.00 - On Sale

Regular price 15.00

Ever wonder how people put together these cool books with the exposed spine and pretty stitching? Well you don't have to wonder anymore because this tutorial will teach you how! It's easy with my step by step instructions and lots of colour photos. You'll learn to cover chipboard with fabric and do the coptic stitch using 4 needles. And because you'll be getting a PDF file, you can enlarge the photos to show the details of every step.

These books are great as an everyday journal, something you keep in your purse/car/etc to record down little things, thoughts or artwork, sketches. Finished book will be 5 3/4" x 4 3/8" and 1" thick. Journal sits open flat and doesn't close on you as you are writing.

These are the items you’ll need to gather:
-10 each of the following papers: recycled natural text paper, recycled light white cardstock, grid paper, ruled school paper, and various vintage/found papers
-2 pieces of 2mm thick chipboard
-2 small pieces of lush floral fabric
-3 meters of dark chocolate waxed linen thread
-4 tapestry needles
-Acrylic matte medium (will be used as glue-may be substituted with Mod Podge in this technique)
-foam brush
-awl (for poking holes)
-ultra fine permanent marker or pencil
-old phone book (for poking holes on top of so you don’t wreck your nice table)
-sanding block
-scissors
-bone folder (or large spoon)
-rubber brayer (optional but sure is a handy tool)
